Connections

Comments from wherever I find them from people of good-will about brotherhood, unity, etc. The web-site (see profile) contains cross-references from various sources showing the simularities of scriptures, poets, and others across time and location. Also some information that, hopefully will improve understanding of some subjects that are based on wrong definition, translations, etc.

Just a note.

I probably will not be updating this blog with stories as I no longer have the time for research.
Here are a couple sites that are focused on good news in the news.

Good News Daily is not Politically or Religiously connected or affiliated in any way. Our belief system is simple. The media portrays all news as bad when in fact many good things are happening around the world on a daily basis. Good News Daily seeks to post good news stories from around the world whether it is todays news or a 50 year old story. We believe that the obsession and inundation of people with bad news on a daily basis is not in our best interest as it makes people feel negative about the world around them. Instead we believe that since the mainstream news stations of the world focus on bad news and dirty laundry almost exclusively we will instead focus on good news and give people the option to hear simply that or mix it with whatever percentage of bad news they see fit.

Good News Network
The mission is to provide a "Daily Dose of News to Enthuse." The Good News Network is a clearinghouse for the gathering and dissemination of positive news stories from around the globe. Daily stories will confirm what we already believe — that good news itself is not in short supply; the advertising of it is.

The $10 Million Giveaway?

Move over Sally Struthers. Three young entrepreneurs found an easier way to raise millions for struggling businesses almost anywhere in the world. But don’t call it a handout -- it’s a loan. And, it’s funded by everyday people, like you, $25 at a time.

In their office in San Francisco's Mission District, Matt and Jessica Flannery and Premal Shah work with the fervor and techno savvy of an Internet startup aiming for an IPO. But they aren't chasing the cash for themselves.
Matt and Jessica Flannery and Premal Shah bring a youthful vibe to the world of microfinance.
They're doing it for Esther Egbulu in Nigeria, a mother of six who wants an $800 loan to stock her shop with frozen chickens and turkey, or 31-year-old Choeun Sonin, who's requesting $1,000 to purchase a motorcycle taxi — just two of 15,000 entrepreneurs from 36 countries that their company, Kiva, has already helped.

Kiva, which means "unity" in Swahili, is a lending organization with a twist: Anyone with a bit of money and an Internet connection can step forward as a microlender to assist struggling third-world entrepreneurs get out of poverty.

Thieves and Samaritans

PENSACOLA - When the bikes Dennis and Tamie Leporin bought for Christmas to ride with their young son disappeared from their front lawn, the couple posted a sign to let the thieves know of their disappointment.
"I hope U crooks enjoy our bikes U stole; Merry X-Mas," the sign read.
The next evening, the couple heard a knock at their door and found an envelope with $200 inside. A pickup truck was driving away.
"Inside was a note that read, 'For every crook, there are 1,000 good people,' " Dennis Leporin told the Pensacola News Journal.
"I thought it was awesome. We moved here from St. Louis, and folks just don't do that in St. Louis," he said.
Tamie Leporin said she and her husband were concentrating so much on the theft that they forgot about the true meaning of Christmas, until they were reminded by the kindness of strangers.
"We just wish there was some way we could thank them," she said.

Peace Day

May the people on this planet be changed.
Changed from hatred to love,
Changed from greed to giving,
Changed from selfishness to selflessness,
Changed from apathy to action,
Changed from jealousy to joy over someone's accomplishments,
Changed from intolerance to acceptance,
Changed from being destructive to being constructive,
Changed from fighting to peace,
Changed from killing to protecting life,
Changed from censorship to freedom,
Changed from ignorance to education,
Changed from fearing our differences to rejoicing our variety.

May we each take it upon ourselves to feed the hungry, cure the sick, house the homeless, educate the illiterate, love the unloved, compete to do the right thing instead of winning at any cost, be heroes that teach our children to make the world a better place instead of glorifying violence and war, stand up and speak out against things that are wrong instead of sitting back and waiting for someone else, demand honesty from our governments, demand honesty from ourselves.

May we each take responsibility for our own actions and realize that by refusing to change ourselves, we condone all the evils in the world. If one person changes, they teach others by example, who in turn change and teach more, one person becomes as a pebble rolling down a mountain, picking up more pebbles as it continues, becoming an avalanche of change. It can happen, it must happen, it will happen.

To make this prayer work, you have to change yourself.

Big Visions/Everyday acts.

"We have to be careful in the details of our lives. Somebody once said God is in the details. A lot of people who are interested in the new consciousness tend to be broadstroke thinkers, efficient thinkers. We have to anchor the big vision in our everyday acts and our little kindnesses."
Marilyn Ferguson

has nothing to fear from lies.
